We hope to make children more aware of how their everyday actions can effect the environment and inspire them to really think about what they can do to make a difference.
By being able to post their own ideas and suggestions on the website, children can learn from one another, and see what other children are doing to help. We feel that they are more likely to get involved when they can see that others are taking action too.
The solutions we are discussing on this website are hopefully ones that children will find achieveable. As much as some children would like to install a solar panel on their roof, we know the average pocket money would probably not stretch to this!
Carbonkids is hoping to involve as many schools as possible in this project. We have made a start at Monton Green Primary School in Salford and we are hoping to visit other schools too.
