Last year we saw the highest average temperature in the UK since records began nearly 100 years ago. And this winter has officially been recorded as the mildest one.
The European heat wave in August 2003 - linked directly by many scientists to climate change - was the hottest in 500 years and killed 28,000 people.
But hotter summers and less rain in the south and east would mean water shortages, forest fires and damage to crops and wildlife.

In Scotland, snow completely disappeared from the highest mountain tops for only the 4th time in recorded history. Over the past 20 years the winters have seen less and less snow and in the future will be rarer still.
More crazy weather
Some regions on the planet will experience more extreme rainfall while others will experience drought .The heavier rain will also cause more flash floods. And hurricanes and typhoons are predicted to become more powerful.
