The children took part in a presentation about climate change, what it is, the impacts it has on the planet and what they can do to help stop it.
All the children were fantastic! They were very enthusiastic about the different ways they can help save the planet and had lots of their own suggestions to contribute on the day.
Children also took part in a competition to design a poster illustrating their five top ideas for tackling climate change. Winners received their very own garden kit with seeds and the runner ups received a copy of 'Super Kids - over 200 incredible ways for kids to save the planet'. A showcase of the posters is on the competitions page!
We also polling their top 10 most popular ideas for what they will do to help the planet and you can see the results here soon.
Children in years 5 and 6 are also taking part in an energy saving homework project, where they are monitoring their meter readings over a period of 2 weeks. We hope to have some feedback on this shortly.
So we would like to say a big thank you to Monton Green for taking part and kids, check and see if your poster is online! |
